Tow vehicle = 2005 Dodge 2500 4x4 automatic hemi tow equipped from factory. 18 mpg on a good day, 9 when towing. 76,000 or so miles, second hand and no problems.

Take the bottom down to gel coat. This can be down with strippers or sanders or soda blasting. Once down to bare gel coat, barrier coat it then bottom paint.
