Re: 125/250v shorepower question

Yup. I think you deserve a cookie now. Did you cut and paste that from my response a few back or did you read up a bit yourself? Btw, abyc e-11 doesn't answer my question unfortunately.

Re: 125/250v shorepower question

Skip it. Four answers and not a single one answered the only question I asked.

Re: 125/250v shorepower question

It's plugged into a normal 125/250v 50a outlet on the dock so I'm pretty sure the boat is getting the full 50a @ 125v. I'm really wondering if this is acceptable by ABYC.

125/250v shorepower question

So I was checking out a boat last weekend and noticed something about it that was different. The shorepower cord on the dockside was a 125/250v 50A cord as was the inlet on the boat. Inside the boat...

Re: Beneteau First 42 Manual

I'm on my 1983 First 42 right now so I tried to measure it. Mine goes through the bulkhead behind the stove into the hanging locker before the hard tubing begins. It seems to measure just over .29"...

Re: New marine air conditioning

My boat had a generator at one time but it had been removed when I bought the boat. I currently use a Honda 2kw generator which powers my existing HVAC fine but you have to be selective about extra...

Re: New marine air conditioning

Pretty much the reverse cycle heat pump is a necessity for me. I live aboard the boat and with the way the summers are here there's not really an option of not having it. A friend with a similar...

New marine air conditioning

So my boat originally came with two 8,000 or 9,000 btu marine air conditioners when new at the front and back of the boat. When I purchased it the aft air conditioner didn't work and the forward one...

Re: Source for good hose clamps...

Look for an industrial hosing supply shop in your area. Just down the street from my work I have a place called Connector Specialists in an industrial shop park that sells the style of clamps that...

Re: Beneteau 40 transmission problem

I just had my boat have a bit of problems when engaging in forward but not reverse. I adjusted the shift cable and all is fine now. If that's not your problem it might be your thrust bearing wearing...

Re: Fuel hose

That's what sometime had told me. I found the stuff they sold listed at over $20/ft at online marine stores but they sold it for less than $7/ft.

Re: Fuel hose

Well I ended up getting lucky. Called around to some local commercial ship supply places and one had some of the Parker coast guard approved marine hose in stock. When I showed up they gave me...

Re: Fuel hose

It nearly is. It's the old type where you use a winch handle in the slot on top to open it. That slot is barely able to grab so I figured I'd do it all at once. Thanks.

Re: Fuel hose

I'm thinking about replacing the fill fitting on deck at the same time. Any advice on the best bedding to use being that it could be exposed to diesel during fill ups?

Fuel hose

Can anyone recommend a good source for 2" B1 rated fuel hose? I'm needing to replace the fill line to my diesel tank.

Thanks.

Re: Liveaboard - Houston/Galveston

I was in the floating slips. I was on the short dock on the northwest side of the complex. Last slip on the right which doesn't have a slip across from it. It was right by the breakwater. I don't...

Re: The run aground poll

I've had a lot of fun running aground. One great one was a rather windy day with full sails up. I start thinking about tacking before getting in shallow water. Get the wheel turned over and start...

The Sense line or just a big Beneteau? The Sense line by Beneteau was new middle of last year or so.

Re: foam backed vinyl -- ok to use? glue?

The adhesive Sailrite uses in their videos is 3M Super Trim Adhesive. The 3M Super 77 seems to be used on sails in their videos.

I did use a high solids paint from Valspar I believe but the...
