Re: leak from rudder stock

I just found this issue yesterday while out sailing. Mine is definately bubbling right up around the rudder stock. This looks nothing like the packing gland on the drive shaft. Anyone want to key...

Re: Diesel Fuel Tank Vent

Where are you? You can order tanks from PSC or you can have them made by a fabricator. There is a guy in Bellingham who makes nice tanks if you are in the PNW.

Re: Anyone have just 1 Bilge Pump?

I just added a second in my rear bilge. The current pump was no where near the low spot in the bilge and the boat would carry a good ten gallons before this pump would come on which it did. The...

Re: Diesel Fuel Tank Vent

I just replaced my vent hose and took all the dip out of the hose that I could so the air could travel freely. This was to make sure that my high racor filter readings were not caused by a trap of...

Re: High Pressure at Racor Filter

I am using a 10 micron filter. I did not know that the racor filter guage could be reset. I will try and do that and see what I get. Thanks for your input.

High Pressure at Racore Filter

I have a 81' Universal Atomic 32hp. My Racor filter gauge is reading a high pressure of between -15 to -18lbs, well into the red. I was told that it should be running between -4 to -6lbs. I have a...

Re: Depression: cabin floor and me

My mast shoe did not have this but all my wires are looped before going through the deck. This has been effective since there are no signs of water intrusion on the wood compression post between the...

Re: Depression: cabin floor and me

Ellen it seems that our bilge layouts are different. I do not have a water tank in my bilge. In my boat I can remove the cabin sole in the vee berth as well as in the forward saloon and gain access...

Re: Depression: cabin floor and me

I only jacked it 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch. Remember my post had not completely failed as of yet but I'm sure it had come down some.

Re: Depression: cabin floor and me

I consulted some boat builders before I began this repair and they gave me the idea. I built the post and they glassed it in for me. Beefy doesn't even begin to describe the post. The original...

Re: Depression: cabin floor and me

I have a 81' PSC 37 and just replaced my compression post. The old one was made of steel and had almost completely rusted through. The PO had bolted some pipes onto it but these did nothing and I...

Re: Coskpit floor leak on 86 PSC 37

I have an 81' PSC 37. I was under mine the other day and it is some kind of sealant not a gasket. I know the previous owner had a new transmission put in so what they used to reseal it I have no...

Re: Bilge improvment

There are no through hulls in that area so the only leak would be from hull damage. If that were to occur once the water got high enough it would flood into the rear bilge where the hoses to the...

Stress Cracking, The "Crealock cracks".

I went to go look at a 1992 37'. Behind the coaming there were some pretty substantial stress cracks about 18" long running mostly parallel. I was told that all the 37's have this cracking issue...
