Our staysail halyard is internal. It simply exits the mast over a sheave set into the slot in the mast below the staysail stay tang. There is no external block hung from the hole in the tang.

I buy 2 gallons of Interlux Micron Extra. That puts just over two coats on the bottom. I also use a little Interprotect to prime the bare spots on the keel and thru hulls.
