Re: Any ideas on this Hooka type dive compressor system?

Absolutely! I would venture a guess that most, if not all of the professional breathing air systems marketed in the US have Chinese components. Parker is one of the largest suppliers of breathing...

Re: Any ideas on this Hooka type dive compressor system?

Somebody asked about scuba tank fill compressors and they start at about $3500 for gasoline engine driven models. And that Brownie's economy 12V hooka system starts at about $1500.

Re: Need answer to something I've always Wondered About

Re: Need answer to something I've always Wondered About

Not a problem. I sell an Oxygen analyzer to scuba shops as part of some of my compressor stuff. One of my dive shop customers did a check to see how much oxygen was left in an exhaled breath. ...

Hey ... SCUBA Compressor owners... Pay attention!

We recently got another small compressor from a local boat yard and it was a MESS! The boat owner was complaining of stinky air that made them sick to the stomach and they asked the yard to look into...

Re: DIY - discussion on building a DIY hookah diving compressor

A GREAT piece of equipment! However, it is designed for commercial divers and this thread is all about hooka diving. Most of the people here are just doing a little light maintenance like hull...

Re: DIY - discussion on building a DIY hookah diving compressor

It is true that you will pay $3500 on up for a scuba compressor that pumps safe air. But a proper low pressure compressor system using the right hose, regulator or mask and filtration will cost as...

Re: Air compressor for Yanmar YSM12

I had a customer that took one of our little personal sized compressors and installed it on his engine. However, it wasn't a "kit" and he did have to do a BUNCH of custom work.

When you have...

Professionals aren't expensive ... beer money kids are. Back when we had a dive shop, we got to know both kinds. The cheapest way to go is to learn to dive and do it yourself. Nobody will take...

Absolutely right! I have seen some of those guys that clean boat bottoms at the marina for beer money do some serious damage. Just learning to dive will teach you nothing about hull construction. ...

Scuba Compressor pricing

I have been delivering more and more scuba compressors to yacht owners and shipyards and the quality of the systems is really going up while the pricing has held pretty consistent for several years....

I am always amazed at just how little common sense is used on a $4-10000 piece of equipment. I was prompted to put this up after a day of working on a gunky $3500 compressor that was installed on a...

Dive Compressor Tips

Spring is almost on us and it seems like just about every year about this time, we get a call about an onboard compressor fails due to owner abuse or neglect. So, instead of sending yours off for...

Pardon me for jumping in here as I am a compressor guy ... not a sailor.

I have a client that purchased a compressor assembly alone and has installed it along with a generator and drives them off...
