Maine,

Thank you!

Only question is: what to do? Short of bringing-in a THD testing device into West Marine, is here any reliable reference?

Has anyone done independent testing, like your...

Re: Getting a group together for discount captains license course

I just registered for the course with the nautical school. The Nautical School - Nautical School Learning Aids (http://www.nauticalschool.com/)

Re: Logging sea time (Captains-your input please!)

I guess time spent drifting definitely counts. Who was that guy that drifted around the ocean for months?

Brad

Re: Diving Instructor Robbed and Killed in Bahamas

So sad. Very sad.

These types of stories must hurt the flow of tourist money by a million times whatever the murders got from the man's pockets. I'd think everyone on the whole island are their...

Mo is a fast learner!...

Re: Serious attack on cruisers in Haiti - Injuries

Re: Getting a group together for discount captains license course

My impression is that is you have some class behind you -- like the Power Squadrons long course -- that you get and insurance discount. Not sure if you get more of a discount with a second course or...

Re: Getting a group together for discount captains license course

About to pull the trigger and reserve a spot in the course. The above looks like the way to go, since you can split the course into 2 sessions if you want. Each day's lesson is modular, and it may...

Re: Serious attack on cruisers in Haiti - Injuries

My condolences to the couple for how horrribly they were attacked. Glad they are still alive.

Re: Cleaning mold on aft cabin walls

From what I understand, bleach makes mold release it's spores. Instead, there's an enzyme-based cleaner that is supposed to literally eat mold. Can't remember the name though.
