Re: Defender's Annual Warehouse Sale!

I hate to be a hater, but they never have the best prices, not even on sale.
A short google search will find a gaggle of places selling for less then them.

Re: Bottom Paint ?

If you took micron 66 into brackish, would it stop working for good? or would a quick bottom rub start the protection again?

Re: Flagship marine?

I would only run it to get the temp down, then shut it off. It should actually handle the surge too, as it is very brief, thou it will not have to. You correct, its a 20hr rating, I think the 5 hour...

Re: The Voyages of Paragon, Season 2

Its a frame rate issue, called rolling shutter, shooting at 60 frames would solve this issue, if the camera he is using can do it.

Re: Flagship marine?

It has auto-switch over. I would start it on the generator, then shut it down, allowing it to run on the inverter. Why wouldn't it run on the inverter? at 150 amps of draw on a 1000AH bank, I could...

Re: simple battery math, and charging

We will be starting with 1000W in panels, and most likely adding 500 more
1500w @ 14v is 107 amps. the charge controller is able to output 80 amps, at any voltage. so If it outputs at 24 volts its...

Re: simple battery math, and charging

The benefits are more then just a single controller.
Its a controller, thicker wire for 12 over 24, The ability to run 24 volt items, less voltage drop over distance.

simple battery math, and charging

I am going to have 8, 6 volt batteries.
They will be hooked up to make a 12 volt system.
What stops me from making a special circuit on the same 12 volt system to charge at 24 volts?

Why?...

Re: Rotten Deck

you would need to build a massive cradle to hold the hull while you did it. Seriously, get another boat. You sure the deck is rotted, and not just wet?

Re: I hate boats...

That may be true. However at this point insurance will not cover the engine when it breaks. Its considered a mechanical failure to have a spun bearing. So he will not be covered if the engine fails...

Re: I hate boats...

I would say get it running, and call it even. 50% loss is not that bad.
When it is time for the next engine call me, I will help you slot in a proper kubota, with a dry exhaust.
