Re: Propeller, Shaft, & Stern Tube

Thanks for the responses.

My current shaft is 1.25" (31.75mm) I don't know what the original metric was.

The shaft log has to be 52mm OD as it is basically pressed into a 700mm (27.5")...

Propeller, Shaft, & Stern Tube

My boat needs a new stern tube. It is a bronze tube, and has metric measurements of 52mm OD, 43mm ID, and 750mm in length.

Does anyone know where something like this can be had?

Re: Does a sailboat need a travler?

The only advantage I can see is that with a traveler you can lock the sheet in the center when close hauled which would help sheet the sail in tighter. My staysail is on a "twin line" setup and I've...

Re: Liveaboard woman alone

You can do it. Size doesn't matter too much. Bernard Moitessier was only 140lb and sailed all over the world alone. That's the about size of the average woman. He wrote several cool books also, so...

It was discussed in another post in this same section.

Re: Boat won't come up into wind

Are you sailing with just the head sail or do you have the main up? If you're just sailing with the head sail try putting the main sail up to balance her.

Also, if you were motorsailing maybe...

Re: Radar signature

My random thoughts...

The corner reflector (the spherical type with intersecting disks) is designed to work at all angles of heel since the idea of the "corner" is to create a 180 degree...

Re: Endurance 35 owners please ->

Never mind, guys. I went and inspected the boat in person today. The boat, in fact, has no keel bolts and the ballast is encapsulated in the molded keel.

The surveyor apparently mixed up boats as...

Re: Endurance 35 owners please ->

Thanks Jolly Roger for the response. I was actually curious about whether or not he talked about the right boat in that part of his report as I suspect some surveyors copy and paste statements from...

Endurance 35 owners please ->

I am looking at buying an Endurance 35 built in Spain out of GRP and I was told by the surveyor that the ballast bolts were rusted. To be truthful, I never expected to find ballast bolts on...
