Insurance for single handlers

I've perused a number of insurance related threads and found nothing about insurance for single handlers.

I expect to sail to the Bahamas from FL. In Nov. single hand.

Advise for ins. Please.

Re: 1990s Coastal Cruisers vs. Mid 70s Bluewater Boats

NaviG,

All good questions. I expect to be sailing in the Sea of Cortez for a couple of years then down the coast to Panama, Ecuador, then out across the Pacific. I'm expecting light to moderate...

Re: 1990s Coastal Cruisers vs. Mid 70s Bluewater Boats

Part of what I'm looking for, maybe most, is some opinions on the newer systems boats built in the 90's would have. Would these newer systems on production boats trump the heavier build of bluewater...

1990s Coastal Cruisers vs. Mid 70s Bluewater Boats

I started a thread about a month ago asking for opinions on some mid 70s bluewater cruisers, Cabo Rico, Tayana37, etc.

My budget then was about 50K. But then I saw a 1980 Valiant 40 on yachtworld...

You're probably right about being underbudgeted but to clarify intended use I want to...

I thank everyone for responding to my question. The comments have greatly assisted me in the process I’m going through.

Are Boats Built in the 70's Just Too Tired

I've been doing research on three boats that interested me, a Tayana 37, Crealock 37, and a 1976 Cabo Rico Tiburon.

I asked the question which to buy here at Sailnet and received a lot of great...

Re: How Much Should I Offer

Thanks ND1953 for alerting me to NADA. I thought NADA just dealt with cars.

I am doing research on prices primarily using YW. However, adding NADA to the mix makes it a lot more interesting. For...

Re: Help With Boat Selection

Hello Cruisingdad,

At your suggestion I am adding the Valiant 40 to my list. My guess is it will be too expensive for me but there is one listed at $69K on YW in my neighborhood, the SF Bay. My...

How Much Should I Offer

I asked for opinions on 3 boats on another thread (actually two threads by mistake) and received some great feed back.

Now I'd like to ask another question that assumes a lot of ifs but I'll ask...

Re: Help With Boat Selection

Thank you for the quick reply. I too find the lines of the Cabo Rico a little more appealing than the other two.

I appreciate the observation regarding space in the cockpit.

Here's another...
