I have used OSPHO in the past with good results. Can be had from a hardware store. I think it is basically Phosphoric acid. Marketed as a rust remover/converter.

A trailerable boat boat that will take you anywhere is the Albin Vega. 4' draft, 8' beam 27' lgth. Weighs 5K dry. Of course i'm prejudiced, but I think you could not go wrong with a Vega.
