Yes, that was me. There isn't a detailed wiring diagram in there, unfortunately.

On our Beneteau 50, all the wires have number labels at each end. That helps a little.

I believe LEDs could use 20 or 22 gauge wire. But you'll need a fuse or circuit breaker that limits the current to a level that the wire can handle (need it on any guage actually).

I use a line that came with the Top Climber for this sole use. I attach it with a bowline to the main halyard that is also tied in a bowline. I trust bowlines more than shackles or other knots.
