Re: Hank on to furler

Thanks. Those were my thoughts: to replace the forestay. I just haven't researched the different systems and wasn't sure if they come with new forestays or not.

Hank on to furler

Hi. I am planning on moving from a hanked on jib to a roller furler. I am wondering what happens to my forestay. Does a new one get installed with a furler system?

Re: SW Ontario - Winter cover

That would be the most preferable option.

Do you think it is possible?

Cut from the bow end to the mast? and re-seal?

topping lift

Hi,

My topping lift is always rubbing on the mainsail leech and batten pockets. Should I be concerned or par for the course?

Re: mainsail batten

Just to clarify: the stress on the sail comes from the luff side of the sail, when the main is down and batten is stretched from across the boom and up towards the mast. Perhaps I am just folding...

Thanks for the input. I will take it out, check everything over two times, make sure it is all fitted properly before, if needed, making the cut.

Thanks.

Hi,

The longest batten (second from the top) on my mainsail seems a 1/2 inch too long. When I drop the main and fold the sail over the boom, the batten gets really stretched (and starts pushing on...
