Re: amp-hour meter

Alex,
thanks for the recommendation. I found it for $140 at the Inverter Service Center. I ordered it so it can go in at the same time I put in the new 300ah battery bank.

amp-hour meter

Has anyone tried using the "Watt's Up" RC Watt meter and power analyzer to monitor the condition of your house battery bank? For $50 it would be a great tool but the spec's look like it will only...

I appreciate the feedback.
Two things: Yamaha wasn't on my original list because according to their website the 9.9 didn't come in a 25" shaft length. So thanks Delite, especially since you've had...

9.9 Outboard Experiences

I've decided it's time to replace my auxiliary, a pull start '98 Mariner 4 stroke. So I'm looking at new electric start 4 strokes that come in 25" shaft lengths. The 9.9 is big enough. My question...

I gather, PaulK, you see this differently than Sailingdog. Since both increasing the "stretch" and going up in diameter would raise the force pulling aft on the car. Do you have this system as well?...

Bunge size for Genoa slides

I just bought a Garhauer E-Z Glide Genoa car system for my 28' O'Day. Besides the line to pull the car forward it uses a bunge cord to pull the car aft. Does anyone own a system about the same size?...

J,
you have a great memory, that is how the rigging is done.
Using the halyard as a counter tension support is really good. When I said I was going to loosen two shrouds, what I meant was opposing...

Examining Chain Plates

When I bought my boat last year the surveyor warned me that the deck was "wet" around the starboard chainplates. This winter I plan on pulling the bolts that go through the partial bulkhead below...

Cool Another Oday w/outboard

I have a '79 O'Day 28. The saildrive was pulled by a prior owner who installed an outboard hydraulic assist bracket rated for 15hp. It holds a 9.9hp Mariner that weights 86lb. I've had it on and off...

Hull Number

Part of getting a title in Massachusetts is supplying a "pencil tracing" of the boat's hull number. Anybody have a clue where on an O'Day 28 I might find it?
Thanks
