Re: What is proper dingy etiquette?

Bb assuming your boat in either on a mooring or at a slip you can and should leave your motor up. The motor does not want to be immersed in salt water for long periods of time.

Now, if your p 26...

Re: What is proper dingy etiquette?

I like the concept of leaving a note. Lets say you drove 2 hours down to your marina to do some spring prep, and forgot your ladder. You might be pretty upset. If you borrowed a ladder from...

Re: 1981 - Catalina 30' or Sabre 30'?

I was told you could still get 45 42 and day sailor. I looked at the website for that quote and did not see it. At least on their mobile version.

It would be a shame but I'm sure if you offered...

Re: 1981 - Catalina 30' or Sabre 30'?

Just a quick FYI - Sabre still makes sailboats. Not sure why there is a misconception. I don't think they want to be making sailboats anymore, but they do.

Re: What does this do?

I think Bristol299 is dead on. Manual handle to an older windlass. Although I like the fog cutter idea.

Re: So what do colregs say about this?

They didn't seem too surprised that they just passed a floating semi? No "Holy Sh** look at that" it was kind of like "Oh geeze would you look at that, another one of Dale 's delivery trucks went...

Re: old/new - displacement/planning

I could be wrong but I thought the open class race boats had to prove they are self righting in FLAT water using their canting keel.....

Re: What is the worst sailing or marine invention ever?

Re: Figawi

It's a blast. Not very serious but that's why the bulk of us love it! It's the unofficial start of summer around here. I've only missed it once in 11 years.

Make sure you catch it all: fri night...

Re: Another America’s Cup entry destroyed

Is it just me or does losing the foils tame the beast and sill leave a very, very fast boat? Bearing off is dangerous in any high powered, high speed sailboat. The foils seem to Make the boats...

Re: Another America’s Cup entry destroyed

Minnie- Good points regarding football players but I don't think you can fully connect the dots in the argument; especially when you say the owners of the AC boats are free to develop these boats to...

Re: Another America’s Cup entry destroyed

You make a good point. However what if this wasn't for sport? What if this was a project to create a new breed of sailing craft and these men & women were pioneers. We would owe them nothing. Does...

Re: Another America’s Cup entry destroyed

To say that someone doesn't have a choice has to be an incredibly inaccurate statement. We all have choices to make and we make them freely every day, regardless of our profession.

Every athlete...

Re: Another America’s Cup entry destroyed

I think this is a critical issue and likely a reason why this debate will rage on for years. Whoever wins the cup next may likely change the boats to water ballasted sharpies. In just a few years...

Re: Another America’s Cup entry destroyed
