Yep, port or starboard tack probably within 100 degrees of the wind, either way I get sucked up straight into the wind. Nothing I can do in terms of sail trim or tiller can help it.

I have a manual wheatgrass juicer and it works for fruits and vegetables too. Its a screw type manual juicer so no power useage and its easy to clean. Cant beat that.

Definitely depends on what the material is. Chrome plated bronze, stainless, and polished aluminum have different modes of corrosion but look similar.

I also just bought a '83 Watkins 25 and they seem to be very solid. Slow, but well built. I plan to do a few trips from south Florida to Bahamas so we will see how it holds up.

Im anchored off Pendarvis Cove Park which is across from Sunset Bay Marina. Been there for about 9 months now nobody seems to mind liveaboards there and its only a short dinghy ride to the marina.

Thanks for all the advice! A little update...
I took the head completely apart, got the "master" rebuild kit for a groco head, and replaced everything. It was a pretty nasty job but it went alright....
