Re: Design and Performance

I would also recommend Bob Perry's book. It has something for everyone. Whether you are a beginner or much more advanced.

Small affordable sailboats with ample storage? (planning to live aboard)

A Rhodes 22 has a head, not exactly enclosed though. Some Compac 23's have a marine head. 3k and 23 foot is not much to work with. If you could step up to a Catalina 27 you could get cheap and a...

Choosing a small sailboat

If you like the seaward you should probably buy it. New they were all moderately priced trailer sailors. All were nice boats. The Catalina was/is the most successful of the bunch. Personally I...

New monohull sailor- Catalina 22

3500 seems high unless it is in immaculate condition. For that price the motor should run perfectly.

Venture 17 Restoration Project for Beginners

You should check out a book called "Fix it and Sail." It about a guy that did a gradual restoration to an old Venture sailboat. It's very well written.

Buying a Cruiser

50k might get you an older boat that might cross oceans, but would not have a lot of creature comforts.

1978 AMF Sunbird Sailboat

Re: 21' Santana or 21' Venture Macgregor?
