Re: iPad users only

Untrue. I just solo'd around Delmarva with my iPad Gen2 plugged in the entire time, sharing the 12v adapter with my Dual XGPS150 puck.

Just ensure that your 12v adapter can pass the needed current...

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

I apologize for misunderstanding. Sarcasm and jokes never translate well in the text world.

The city pictures are great. At first, I couldn't fathom why anyone would sail to a major city, but...

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

Sometimes I simply do not understand your hostility.

I never said that greenheads do not exist on the Delaware, or that the chop is overstated, or that people are lying about the conditions.

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

What you say about stories is true. I'm sure my trip around is terribly dull, and I'm fine with that.

I really enjoyed the northern Bay. I've never been up that far before. I loved the homes, high...

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

Past discussions really had me worried about the Delaware Bay. I didn't know if greenheads were going to eat me alive, or if the chop was going to batter my boat to bits.

I didn't see a single...

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

James- I stayed just outside the line of sea buoys.
It was very hazy at the surface. I only ever saw one distant vessel.
I had very little wind and combined motor and sail where practical.

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

Ok, forget Delaware. I'm in Harbor of Refuge right now.

Please name some marinas and anchorages in the northern bay. I've never been that far north.
Preferably nothing in Baltimore. I don't...

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

Any recommendations for anchorage or marina aways up the Delaware river? I want to be in a position to catch the ebb.

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

I use gasoline. Atomic 4 engine. I think I'm OK for supplies.

I meant that I was a bit north of point lookout, sorry. St. Georges Creek.
30 miles today put me at a cove off Windmill Point.

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

I'm not going to make it around Delmarva this summer. I broke things during Governor's Cup and have spent too much time sorting it out.

I'm south of Pt. Lookout right now and plan on continuing...

Re: Crew wanted for Gov Cup Ches Bay MD

What I'm seeing, is that the wind will be in the process of clocking from SE to E at the time of the 3pm starts, and we'll have basically no wind at all.

Then, the breeze will fill in from the...

Re: Crew wanted for Gov Cup Ches Bay MD

The nice thing about the light breezes, is that crew can actually catch some real sleep down in the cabin. Fresh crew, rotated through watches is better than keeping everyone up until the chart...

Re: Crew wanted for Gov Cup Ches Bay MD

+1. My new Manson is at the ready.

The chance of rain is increasing. The wind predictions are increasing slightly, but the direction is anywhere from NE to SE.

Re: What doesn't kill you....

Great story, and it sounds like you handled things very well.
