Most of your saltwater digital trollers have potted electronics in the head, so theoretically waterproof. Probably a few switches wouldn't like being submerged, tho they would dry out eventually....

All the trolling motors I have seen have the motor underwater with the "controls" up top. I don't think the controls would be happy under water, especially if there is any salt in it.
