Re: En Solitaire (Turning Tide)

Good to hear!
I have been trying to get the movie for a while but cannot find it in the US. My family lives in France and will have to send it from over there.
Where did you get it?

Thumbs up Re: X-5 Auto Pilot opinions

I installed mine about 4 years ago with ease. Noisy like others have described.
But here is a bit of a lengthy story about my experience with it and customer service. Hang on!

It worked great the...

Re: Chainplate Re-locating

For what it's worth, I had a similar dilemna a few years ago.
I always felt like the chainplate attachment on my boat was poorly designed and weak (several others including a surveyor told me the...

Re: Alodine

This boat does not have a trunk in the cabin.
The tube goea down to the top of the keel just below the cabin sole which is about 2 to 3 feet below the waterline.

I had been advised to stay with Aluminum.
I considered SS but was told I might have bigger corrosion concerns...

Re: Alodine

Thank you for the replies.
I need to replace the tube that the centerboard cable goes through.
It is about 8 inches into the keel and goes through the cabin up to the deck.
It's 1.5 in OD with 1/8...

Question Alodine

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with Alodine 1201?
I need to know if a piece of aluminum tubing underwater would be protected enough from corrosion with Alodine treatment.

I would like...

Re: US Boat in E.U?

Does anyone know, IF we document the boat with USCG, if there is any State Sales Tax to pay at any time (assuming the boat never comes into US Waters).

Thank you.

Re: US Boat in E.U?

Thanks Jaramaz for what you pointed out about reselling the boat.
It is true that at the moment, my main motivation is to avoid the tax, but maybe it is not that big a deal in the grand scheme of...
