Re: Crew Needed: Chsapeake Bay to Panama

He hasn't made it anywhere yet let alone Florida. His lack of sailing experience increases his risk. Anyone who is honest with him or herself realizes that.

If you go onto any forum and ask for...

Re: Crew available in Florida for offshore sail

Well, you could go to the Off Topic forum, start a nonsense thread and fill it up with posts.

http://www.sailnet.com/forums/off-topic/

And before you get annoyed, the purpose for that...

Peoples: If you have fewer than 15 posts you cannot send a private message. If you don't leave contact information (I suggest creating a throwaway email account), then you will NOT be able to contact...

re: Need Advice on Adding Portlight

Probably should consider the type of sailing the OP actually does. If tooling around in and out of bays, up and down the ICW type sailing there is probably little chance of "burying the bow" into...

Re: How did you get your spouse to embrace the cruising life?

Perhaps you and your wife could take a sailing course together? That puts you on equal footing and in a learning environment where someone else is the responsible party.

There are also women only...

Re: female crew wanted for Bahamas cruise

As a woman who sails whenever possible, and who knows plenty of others who also love to sail, perhaps your bait is inadequate.

Re: Cracked bow (pic), would you buy?

No story. When you quoted me you missed the "if" in front of "...I screwed up..."

I was teaching myself how to lay fiberglass and rewire the electricity. If I made a major boo boo, it wouldn't be...

Re: Good Small Boat for Older, Fatter Woman to learn on

That's awesome.

A woman in my marina used to keep a Catalina Capri in a slip. Every weekend I'd watch her husband drop her and one kid off and she'd head off into the bay.

Re: Cracked bow (pic), would you buy?

I agree Capt Len. Buying the boat, whether used or new is the easy part. I don't think the headaches go away with the new boats, they just occur in a different part of the brain.

Re: Cracked bow (pic), would you buy?

I don't see where anyone is suggesting that he buy a new boat. I bought my first boat with the expectation that I would learn how to repair stuff on it and if I screwed up to the point of no return,...

First, I'm going to move your question into its own thread for more visibility.

Next, there are plenty of people on this forum who have done what you want to do. Just not this time of year. You...

Re: Cambridge MD Sailnet Rendezvous July 25-26

Then it would be a perfect sail for you! Turn right at the bottom of the river, head south for a bit and then another left and you're there! :)

Re: Easy Access

You don't mention what type of sailing you want to do so the recommendations aren't all over the place.

For what it's worth, we've found two boats for vastly different types of sailing. Easy...

Re: Clean sails, Ommmmm ....

Absolutely that's better. But ours were dirty when we bought the boat. The cleaning suggestions are good for those cases, too, when the dirt is no fault of the current owner.
