I was able to free mine up by fashioning a square headed punch out of a carriage bolt to drive against the ring. I first tried a block of oak, but it wouldn't deliver a sharp enough blow to break it...

My heater fuel line is teed off of the engine fuel line just down stream from the Racor filter. This is not ideal because it introduce more possibilities for air leaks into the engine...

Yes, I have seen that one too, but with all the curves and such on a boat, calculating volume is non-trivial. My dealer is definitely an Espar marine dealer and probably the best in the area.
