You could relocate the pump switch higher up if it is located outside of the pump. You could also relocate the pump higher up.

On most every boat I've been to the exhaust outflow is above the waterline. IMO if it isn't when you've got 6 people onboard you should re-locate it higher up.

You could do a really rough repair, clean the hole up some, screw a piece of plywood or something from the inside and slop on a few layers of fiberglass.

I've added a teak toe rail to a modern 33 ft yacht.

The toerail was done in pieces to fit between the stanchions, holes for screwes were pre-drilled and sunk in the toe rail as well as the deck....
