Re: Boat Sitting - Is it really an outrageous proposition?

I have a friend that got a gig like that. For $400 a week he lived on and cared for the owners boat, and had it ready for the owner when he arrived. He also crewed when the owner took it out. The...

Anchoring

When you sail into a crowded anchorage, how do you know when you have enough room to anchor? Would you share your method or technique for making that decision?

Re: Trip Plan

I've done a lot of sailing in Mass Bay, from P-Town to Gloucester, so I want to keep South of the Cape. I have my charts, but can anyone recommend a good cruising Guide?

I would go more by feel than the instruments. Excessive weather helm, too much heel: time to reef.

Re: Worst Event During a Sail

Knocked down by a microburst sailing into Salem Harbor on a Cal33. Mast was about a foot above the water for 20-30 seconds but seemed like an eternity.
