The diaphragm pump is they way to go. Check valves can reduce pump output by more than 50% on centrifugal pumps and are not recommended by ABYC.

I think the problem with the dry lube is when it get wet. It would be hard to keep the steering always dry. The T-9 is to protect the chain from corrosion while the oil helps lube the chain rollers....

Yes the below deck one is in process, I will then do one on interfacing autopilots followed by one on rudders. Not sure about the hydraulic one but it is a good idea and I will see what I can do.
