Re: "Voltage" light stays on

I am. I'll search and read.

That battery is older than the one with a full charge. It might have a bad cell. I'll buy a hydrometer. I appreciate the info with the appropriate specs. Had I known...

"Voltage" light stays on

The boat is a 1983 Cal 27. The engine is a Yanmar 1GM. I think the alternator is a replacement. I can't find a model number but it does say "Hitachi" on the back.

On the instrument panel there...

Lake Lanier

This is kind of weak in this forum. Most of the posts here are in search of actual crew - like to work a boat in open water. I'm just looking for someone to sail with.

Do you /really/ think that the skull and cross bones still stands for "rape, robbery, plundering, and murder"? Really? Still today? Or, maybe, does it stand for something else today than it did a...

*rolls eyes*

He's doing it for fun. He's not /really/ a pirate, nor would anyone today likely confuse him for one. This is something that's pretty common place, and can be done without harm.

The research I just did into this suggests that Trident 101 is better. I'll see if I can find where I read that. Back in a few . . .

Edit: Of course now I can't find it. This link says, I...

That makes it a 2-27. My is a 3-27 and I suspect the bow pulpit is different, as the boat dimensions aren't the same.

2-27:
* LOA = 26' 7"
* LWL = 22' 1"
* Beam = 9' 3"
*...

I could be way off base here, but what if you can make it through the cuts but the tow boat can't? If you have engine problems and for some reason can't sail . . . long shot on both happening at the...

The check valve (really just a rubber flap) in mine broke off which prevented it from drawing a prime. I plumbed a check valve into the line to replace it and the pump works fine.
