Re: The run aground poll

Re: bottom feeding, democracy, and economics

So I'm on my boat looking at him, he was on his boat looking at me. Decide amongst yourselves who had the better view :)

Re: Convert Symmetric Spinnaker to Asymmetric?

Depends on the particular spinnaker, a good sailmaker can recut it into something that'll be fine for pottering about, not going to be as good as a proper asym, and of course you'll lose the DDW...

Re: Do you play music whilst sailing?

Mostly gansta' rap or hard house, I had a few wakeboat speakers fitted, great sound and fantastic volume through my paired 2kw amps.

Re: Yanmar super vibration

If you go back into neutral and into forward again, does the problem go away? If not, if you back and forth a few times does it go away? Sounds like something isn't engaging in the gearbox (or...

Re: Threadbare Gelcoat

It's the gelcoat worn away, mine has several spots like that, some previous owner must have had a very abrasive rear end. Only fix really is to repaint the deck, and I'll get around to that at some...

Re: "The 2 happiest days of a boatowners life are..."

After I sold my previous boat I sailed her down to her new home with her new owner, it was a glorious sail, perfect weather and the new owner was very impressed with her sailing ability, but a...

re: What made you buy your boat?

A boat for the most part isn't a "head" decision, at least it wasn't for me. I could have considered lots of practical reasons, and yeah, my boat ticked enough boxes, but ultimately, as I posted...

Re: Singlehanding Pedestal Steering

Poor man's Beneteau? More likely the bendytoe is the unthinking man's C&C ;)
Your boat is very stable and very forgiving, worry about reefing once you are into 15+kts true, you most certainly don't...

Re: Increasing Outboard Prop Depth?

I had the same issue on my previous boat, I bought a complete used long leg and swapped it over, took about ten minutes. I of course had the advantage of having a mainstream motor with tons and tons...

Re: Blue Seas ACR/"Add a battery" kit

Re: Blue Seas ACR/"Add a battery" kit

OK. Would the ACR and my existing 1/2/B allow me to start on the start battery, switch to the both setting once started to charge the house and start battery without damaging them, and then switch...
