Re: PS 37 boarding ladder size

I have a folding ladder that hangs from the track at the gate on my 37, I don't know for sure how long it is but I'm sure it isn't 70 inches long and it does have two steps in the water....48 inches...

Re: How to install spinnaker halyard on Hunter 306

I hate tape sticky on my lines. I work a set of forceps thru the halyard near the end, "grab" the messenger/tracer line and pull it thru the halyard then tie a bowline. A bit of rigging tape to...

Re: Yanmar 4JH2E - how to drain antifreeze?

This was on my 3GM30 but the 4JH2E (which I have in current boat) has the same style. The drain is the brass fitting left side of photo next to my thumb.

Off the bottom of the exchanger is...

Re: Backing up a Pacific Seacraft

As Keith said once you get the boat moving astern go to idle or neutral and it's fairly easy to back in a straight line. There will be a bit of prop walk to the left until you get moving.

I back...

Re: I owe the PO a beer

As we're beating out of the bay for the start of our recent trip the GPS gives a low battery warning. What? But I hooked it to the boat DC!!

Once at the anchorage I...

Re: Problem with anchor windlass.

A manual would be fine if there is one that will let my wife quickly hoist 250' of chain and a 45 pound anchor. ;)

Update

Checked voltages at the relay (13.5) and at the switches (13.5). Went on deck and ran the windlass a few times each direction, finally failed.

When it failed I could push the foot buttons and...

Re: I owe the PO a beer

It's fine. 14 ga is what was there, GPS uses 18 for power. I might trace it back to panel to put it on a separate switch.
