Re: PSC 31 / PSC 32 Pilothouse

I have owned my '87 31 (not Pilothouse) for 15 years and love it even more now than when I first bought it. It is a joy to single hand. It is also a joy in (gulp) heavy weather. I often take two or...

Keith,

I have had my '88 Pacific Seacraft 31 (same portlights as yours) in San Pedro for 14 years and have not seen the oxidation you describe. (or maybe I have forgotten how shiny they should...

Re: bilge zinc link?

I did go to the boat and put the positive multimeter lead in the bilge water and attached the negative to the main negative bus bar. I got .6 volts.

Then I attached the positive lead to the...

bilge zinc link?

Zincs might be going a little fast - about three months this time. Could I put one lead of the multimeter in the bilge water and the other to ground to see if I get a reading? OK, I can and I will...

McGray,

I had my pedestal sandblasted and powdercoated and it looks great. What I need is the two plastic sleeves that protect the pedestal guard where it goes through the (top guard?, yoke? -...

Re: Should it (the binnacle) stay or should it go

Hush,

I took the Merriman binnacle apart on my 1988 31. Of the four bolts the first was difficult, second was very difficult, third broke the top off the bolt but was able to cut a slot and...

Re: Location of official hull number

PCS is the official identifier for Pacific Seacraft. I am sorry, I forget the reason but I do recall it being a very boring reason.

Re: How often to change impeller?

At $20 per impeller I would be much happier at my yearly impeller change than I am now. The Yanmar 3gm30f impeller goes for more like $40. I have always thought there must be a good quality...
