Option: Catalina 36 and 38

Yea, it is a crying shame that the owners of these boats are countering a bunch of lies. If you were going to buy a ford would you ask a chevy owner''s opinon? I think not, just observe the way...

Option: Catalina 36 and 38

You know you could avoid all warranty issues like Denr has and buy a 30 plus year old boat. By then the boat has either sunk or should have all these issues ironed out.

DVD or video

In my opinion, DVD''s are just a more appropriate choice for boats, the media is more robust, moisture can harm magnetic tape like on VHS.

Also from a pure energy standpoint, it takes less juice...

The Right Boat

I am a big fan of learning by doing. I don''t think that getting the 40ft you want is inappropriate at all. Just as long as you are diligent in preperation. We jumped from a 27 to a 36 foot and never...

The Right Boat

I wouldn''t buy it with out a sea trial, particularly with the concern you have for how tender the boat sails. The way the boat sails is one of your main search criteria, then you need to sail it....

Buyer-seller etiquette?

It doesn''t sound like you made any mistakes. The timing issue sounds like it is all on his shoulders, as for the questions, if a seller gets upset when you are asking questions, then don''t bother...

keywest marina''''s

How Long do you plan on staying? There are a number of Marinas you can live aboard, the closer you are to down town the more expensive. The Galleon comes to mind. Key West is not cheap....our boat is...

yachtworld prices

I agree, 20% is high, never heard this as any standard. In fact in the real estate space anything more than 10% less is considered low balling. Frankly I think the same thing of boats. Difference in...

CATALINA 350 need input

Ok, you are not comparing apples to apples, a 350 should be compared to a 36, when in fact it is longer at the waterline than a 36 and a whole world away from a 34.
