Re: New Shoe Review

I have been using CROCS Islanders for the past 4 years and now don't wear other styles of shoe. Life is too short to wear uncomfortable shoes.

Re: 4hp outboard motor questions

With the new information, consider a long shaft 3.5hp.

Weight is still light enough for a light weight yacht.

Brand is not as important as service so see what local dealers are available.

Re: 4hp outboard motor questions

I have a 5hp two stroke which has plenty of power for an 850kg yacht.

The 4hp four stroke with long shaft and high thrust propeller will easily do your job but a 6hp longshaft with high thrust...

Re: yanmar 3gmf loss of power

Dale, the engines used in marine applications are already de-rated at manufacture so that they can work at full throttle indefinitely without issues.

It is normal for users not to operate at full...

Re: Docking with an outboard

The standard propellers on the Tohatsu/Nissan/Mercury outboards are next to useless in reverse. Their lack of thrust makes stopping the hull or moving the hull quickly in confined spaces an issue.

Re: yanmar 3gmf loss of power

Sounds more like a blocked exhaust, check for things like a wasp nest in the outlet or carbon build up in the wet area.

Running the diesel at full revs is fine and the engine systems should cope...

Re: Does anyone know GPH for a Yamaha 6ph (4stroke)?

I thought my earlier post gave credible information but there might be more information that helps you plan a cruise.

Flat out you can expect 0.5 American gallons per hour or 2 liters per hour.
