Re: Best way to attach 14 gauge wire to a battery terminal?

What MS said. I installed mine last year as per the instructions without a problem using the specified wire.

Smart move OP! You will love having it! It's like a fuel gauge for your battery...

Re: Looking for Winch Handles

Saved my bright red titan last year and got to practice my MOB skills too.

I prefer the titan as it is light and wont damage the boat as much when it goes flying acrossthe cockpit because someone...

Re: Catalina 27 Seacock Replacement Advice.

If I had a survey done on my old catalina 27, I would never have bought it and I would never have learned how to fix and repair so many systems on a sailboat. Just sayin'.

Re: New Jeanneaus & Bavarias

FWIW, the new Jeanneaus have no backstay either.
Spreaders swept back at 30 degrees means tacking downwind with or without the kite on a top down furler....

Re: New Jeanneaus & Bavarias

You are correct. I meant boat speed in water. Still, the TWS would equal the AWS and be inflated if the boat had a forward velocity component.

Re: New Jeanneaus & Bavarias

How can it calculate TWS if it doesn't know SOG?
In your case with no boat speed input, it would take SOG as zero so the TWS would equal apparent wind speed. Hence the elevated number.

Re: New Jeanneaus & Bavarias

That guy in the video may have some decent docking skills, but he comes off like a used car salesman in his videos. (I've seen a bunch).

Re: At what point can the seller just end a deal?

That's the problem with taking a deposit. You can't always just give it back.
But I completely agree with Mainesail. There are just some customers\buyers who are just not worth the hassle. ...

Re: New Jeanneaus & Bavarias

That's because Jeanneaus go so fast down wind it makes a 28 knot wind feel like an 8 knot breeze. ;)

Re: New Jeanneaus & Bavarias

Now that's just silly. As long as you have SOME forward velocity, it's not going to make a difference whether there is prop wash over the rudder or not. And that's always the case in reverse no...

Re: New Jeanneaus & Bavarias

Agreed. It does take a little more use of the boat's momentum to maneuver but it is not, by any means difficult.
