This really sounds indicative of an engine under heavy load. Does the engine seem to operate normal in neutral. Are you sure the shaft is free and not binding? Very puzzling. :(

Is it possible your water intake for the engine could be clogged or obstructed? Just a thought and not being any sort of an expert I would blow it out anyway. Could be some growth or ? up there...

I too am looking at possible H.S. curriculum for a sophmore. I thought Calvert was only K-8. I did find one called Nebraska H.S. I believe? Google it. Courses were around $260 per subject each....
