Emergency steering hole in rodder for rope?

While sailing in the leeward islands, i had my rudder post shear from the internal webbing in the rudder. Obviously, the emergeny tiller, nor the autopilot had to effect in steerage at this point. ...

Radio etiquette

identify drawbridge, then your vessel name, direction of your vessel, "requesting an opening"... They monitor Channel 9 in some (possibly all) areas. Listen to what other are saying in your area....

have you checked to voltage at the autopilot? possibly you don''t have the right guage wire going from the battery to the autopilot and are losing too much voltage...
