It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon.

it is a shame they never took off in the states, but I just sold off my GP14. There is a thriving race fleet here in Southern NJ, but except for one or two other places, most people have never heard...

Re: Cape Dory 25 vs Oday 25 maybe vs Cat 25
I look at it this way: Cape Dorys always seem to command a price premium over similar boats. It might be because of the name, but I am also sure it is due to how ruggad they are.

I agree with you there. I do about 100 miles a week. A year ago, I broadsided a caddy that turned into a parking lot right in front of me. Destroyed my front wheel, bloodied my nose, and did a good...

Re: Where are the younger people?
My first boat, a GP14, cost me $500.. and that was with the trailer. I sold it for what I bought it for. My current boat, a SeaSprite 23.. $2000, with the trailer. I need to do a little tidying up,...

Re: Where are the younger people?
I personally think a lot of this extends from the price of new boats. Many of them cost the same or more than a small home. And for that you get 40 feet by 12 feet of "space" not all of which is...

Re: Where are the younger people?
Sadly, I can believe that. The State Owned "Farley Marina" here in Atlantic City is run by the Golden Nugget Casino. Slip fees for the season, not the year, would run me about $3000 for my 23 foot...

Re: Idiot lights to gauges and OMG! I hate that Morse dual control down near the deck
yes, you can install a "t" on the engine that will allow you both a mechanical gage and an idiot light. Infact, I would -not- do without an idiot light. The chances of the light catching your...

Any boat, not properly maintained, is a deathtrap. And every boat has something different that needs more maintance and care than another boat. I would not let the swing keel scare you as long as you...

a bonded ground would not cause corrosion.. but a regular ground could. I am not sure how your boat is wired, but on mine the battery disconnect only affects the positive side of the battery, thus...
