On top of those improvements, you also have to take into consideration that 10k in 1970 had the same buying power as 62k does nowadays. Annual inflation between then and now was 4.15%.

Thats a good tip, and it doesn't look like it from the photos, but I did. Sailrite has a good video on making cockpit cushions that I followed as best as I could....

This one ekes by as a low buck project if you consider that there are 4 cushions for a total of $130, so $32.50 per cushion. I used one whole sheet of 2" dry fast foam from the foam factory...
