I soldered mine just like above. Remember to slide your heat shrink on the wire before you solder it in case it will not fit over your connector. Just melt the solder into the connector until is full...

I would think thru hulls or the cockpit drain...

I would think thru hulls or the cockpit drain hose is split. Also check the sea **** for leaks around the valve stem maybe.
