the heater takes a long time to get really going and yes the stove will flare up if not preheated properly but the heat produced by the stove...

blue is engine oil try a compression test dry and then with some oil in the cylinders to see if that changes if the oil increases compression then its rings if not it is valves and or guides

i have never seen a boat with teak casing around compression post usually it is solid teak
you might not see sag at the mast step it could be the whole deck is flexed...

citrus oil will hep prevent future mold after you clean it up
leav a few small pieces of citrus peel in hidden spots will reduce potential mildew and also smell good
helps to get rid of boat smell...

with sealed batteries the trick is to keep the charging voltage low i have 2 20 ah for running my dinghy electric motor on charging on in use and charge 13.7 volt instead of the 14.4 most chargers...

do a laptop with nmea tranducer and gps
simply record the data and cross reference the depth and coordinates via timestamps
you want a good gps to be very acurate
correcting of course for tide
