I Spoke with another sailor who anchored in Smugglers Cove recently, it was shallow and ok for his 2.5' draft. Not so close in to shore for a 4.5' draft though-- couple hundred yards? He Also said...

Fantastic ideas, especially the Quest jet on the cove stripe. The Admiral was thinking the same thing about Bandit on the mail sail; I'll let her know you approve. :)

Jonny Quest

Always looking for adventure, Jonny Quest was my childhood hero.

Later on we'll be adding graphics to the sides, and my wife is wondering what would look good on the main sail.

I want to mix my non-skid white and beige to produce a sand color

I have seen this on other boats and the subtle difference is nice looking. It would still cut on glare and would not be too heat absorbing for the jungles of Louisiana. :)

Edit: Exactly the tint...

SailingDog, do you have a way to retract your jacks?

SD,

A learning experience for many with this thread

Not to knock dhays too much (as I genuinely expect that in hindsight you wish you had phrased your feelings somewhat differently), but I do agree with Dave here. Be careful when being quick to judge....

Sailing classes for the kids!

To expand on what others have said, sailing school for the kids would truly take them from passive passengers to active sailors, which will make it much more fun and ignite a lifelong passion (if...

Just fired up my 12yr old Cruisair--still works!

It came withe the boat and looked like it hasn't been used in years--probably hasn't. Anyway, fired it up yesterday and it still works like a charm. I hear they can be found on ebay, etc for 200-300...

move it forward

Good point here. Mine is further forward than yours, and while it is the same length and stern end is not covered, I've found that this is only a real issue when sailing with the sun at your back....

I like the idea of the golf cart batteries as well for my future replacements. Do you need to replace them all at the same time? If one dies prematurely halfway through its life, will replacing that...

Well $%!*, I was hoping to move my boat to Slidell

That was supposed to be my consolation for not being able to sail on the Coast--thought they would be able to contain the mess at the mouth of the Rigolets, a strategic chokepoint.

Might have to...
