Re: Garmin and Navionics Apps

Re: Keel cooling

I've thought of that on occasion. Many of the boats and in particularly fish boats up here use keel coolers. They seem to work very well. This is just a guess but I think you would definitely need...

Re: Scared the CRAP out of me!

You came out unscathed...that's good.

Sometimes I wish I had a full keel. I think I've hit a few logs over the years. I have a skeg hung rudder but my rudder sticks down a bit below the skeg. The...

Re: Well that's gotta be embarrassing!

Well...looking at the spin in the first shot, I suspect they likely knew what was coming. I'm guessing they thought they would squeak by right up to the end.

Re: My last little bit of planning

Hmmm...JRD22 can verify this story. 1 or 2 in the morning we had to vamoose out of a bad bay and into Bute inlet for the long fight back. Have you ever tried to find a spot for a dog to do his...

I'm in Jervis Inlet at least a couple of times a week and year round. I have seen it dead calm, winter included. Jack has accurately described the winds for the inlets and they can often make for a...

Re: My last little bit of planning

If you're only going as far as Desolation Sound you should be able to find fuel in a few spots. Powell River, Lund, Refuge Cove and Herriot Bay come to mind. Venturing a bit north or even around...
