THis is going to seem naive, but why can I not use the cb/ssb mobile I have in my truck for use at sea. I can rig my backstay up with an antenna. It seems like a good way to save a thou.

Pros- very seakindly, well built hull, do not seem to blister ( at least none that I know of) almost full keel, internal keel so no keel bolts, medium displacement ( 8000) go to weather...
