BoatUS went from $990 per year to $3,700 per year for our move from CA to LA. They said it's because of Hurricane season . . .

Moved from CA to LA gulf coast and insurance went from $100 per month to $300! Found State Farm insurance deal and lowered back to $150 per month.

Our marina in Monterey Bay was Moss Landing marina, a great place but get use to wind and waves. Yep, we will commute the 45 minutes to Slidell and nobody in Northern California has AC in their boat....

According to BoatUS, the Gulf area is the second most expensive place to insure a boat. The most expensive is Miami area . . . hate to see the premiums . . .

Just moved from San Francisco California to Slidell Louisiana and BoatU.S. insurance went from $332 a year to $2177. That's almost a 700% increase! Holy crap that's high, not sure if I can continue...

Just to let everyone know, we settled on Bayou Liberty Marina - for now:)
Our boat will be here the middle of May and looking forward to being on the water again. Hope to see you all in the future ....

Use to have lots of problems with a left hand drive and two blade prop. Changed to right hand drive with a three blade prop = much more control! Now I can backup and have some control . . .

I talked with the Harbor Master when I was there and he said the depth at at Lake Pontchartrain Harbor Marina entrance is about 4 feet right now. He was meeting with the owner to propose some changes...
