Sail mag just put out an article on cruising spins this month. In the last month they mentioned poling out the TACK to head deep down wind to get it out from behind the main. Never seen that...

Go to the forespar website... they have good info on sizing poles.... the one that adjusts 7-15' (if I recall) should be adequate. Not cheap...but not too many alternatives out there...though...

Fill in the gouge, ideally with a piece of teak of just the right shape. Maybe a filler in the gaps.

If you have a electric fuel lift pump it also has a mesh filter that should be cleaned or replaced.

Also, I would check to make sure your fuel pickup tube in the fuel tank does not have the mesh...

You just factor in the interest as cost of ownership. Plus you can get that second home deduction which offsets it, I believe.

And 4% interest on boat loans is cheap money.

Been sailing on my Catalina 27 for the last five years and in the process have put in so much money and time into upgrading everything...sails, cushions, rigging, plumbing, electric, etc etc.

Looks like a headache waiting to happen. Spring for a sock. My ATN cracked at the hoop and shred my spin. Just replaced it with one from north sails. Cheaper and worked great today!
