IMHO. Generally speaking, the boats will take more than the occupants. If you look at something like a Flicka (size/for/size, if in fact size is that important) they have done some marvelous voyages....

Den Haan makes the lamps. As far as COLREGS I am not certain they would compy but Den Haan makes the ''real thing''. In the uS you will have to go through Weems/Plath and I think they run about $220...

If the boat has not been designed to support an inboard, you may put in about $7000 to redesign the hull and install stringers. Plus it probably won''t sail worth a crap. Might be cheaper on that...

Spectra Lifelines?

A couple of caveats. First UV will destroy spectra in less time than plastic coated s/s wire will rust. Second, if you do any ORC/MORC racing you may find a requirement for wire.
