Re: Compass is Off

A long magnetic piano hinge will surely mess up the compass but a proper cockpit table is surely worth it. Scattering little magnets about can make the compass point anywhere you like. Just means...

Re: Missing Sailboat: Voyage Puerto Vallarta to Galapagos

Re: Low buck projects- Let's see 'em!

Good bikes are available at the Nanaimo recycle for $20 .Some need air in tires but little else. Assume it's the same all over. Spending the big bucks and rusting it out does'nt make a lot of sense

Re: Why Hose Between Shaft Log and Packing Gland?

Re: Installing new sink faucet

By the time you've rumbled around under the sink for a while you may have cracked or bunged up the sink drains and the hose that goes directly into the ocean. Last thing you need is a back flow. The...

Re: My Autopilot is posessed by Satan!

Sensitive little buggers. A couple of tomato juice cans on the next shelf can do an Ivan. Now for a deviation card.

Re: Best way to make fenders easy to use...

I had my designated slip in front of the Empress so had a line of long tubes permanantly lashed horizontally .I had 3 tubes and a scotchman in the dingy if I needed to buddy up or rescue someone. The...

Re: Deck hardware: OK to attach with screws only?

You didn't say how big your ship is but for relatively small deals, how about cutting out the under panel using the backing block/plank for a template.Thickness is what ever it takes. Epoxy to...

Re: Confirming sanitation ID size

If it's easier to slip on it's easier to slip off. Some heat or hot water on the hose end can make good the ridges that will engage the hose clamps.Reach for the KY

Back in the '60's I sailed out of Gib both E and W. Competition was amazing.and I was broke. Never occurred to me that it might be something I couldn't handle. Caution would have deprived me of some...

Re: Pump for bow bilge on a CS27

Is it possible for the locker to take in more water due to wave action than can run out by gravity between waves? If so. high sides and a preventive clamshell on the aperture may be good idea.

Re: Engine Instruments Fail to Read - Help!

Unless all the wires go thru a common connecting plug in the harness I'd look real close at the panel. Some even have a printed circuit type board so a cold soldered joint can be nearly invisible.
