Re: Cal 27 deal of the century or total lemon...

Kbyte,

Assuming those repairs are necessary what would you estimate as the cost for that work?

Also, the boat is in RI so I wonder if it would be worth it to have her shipped to TN. Probably...

Brands/ Manufacturers which Hold Value

Ladies and Gents,

In my perpetual search for a boat I like I have come across a few stories of people who have bought boats in decent condition and sold them years later for more than purchase...

Re: Thug proofing

I know this only works in the good old USA, but IF I have legitimate fear for my life or property I have the following alarm systems:

Beretta 92A1- 0-25 yds
Bushmaster M4 Custom- 25-300 yards...

Re: Admiral is apprehensive about cruising

Baby steps brotha man. Start slow- a few over night trips, etc. Consider it a shakedown cruise for the newly refitted boat and yourselves. My bet is after a few uneventful trips she will be on board....

Re: Learning to sail by full immersion.

Seconded. Thank you.

That said, if you want some inspiration, here is a blog written by two very charming young lasses (In my humble opinion, both instantly wifeable) who said screw it, bought a...

I'm just curious what "Charitable" works could be done while on a cruising trip. Teach kids to read and write english in Mexico? Deliver used books to islands in the Bahamas? Water purification?...
