Re: Searching for a PSC 37 in OZ
James,
Lived in Sydney and Adelaide for two years and kept looking for one, but you're right, they're hard to come by. See previous post on NiftyNickers, an '82. For the ~60k price, you could...

Boy, I like the look of those. I was avoiding going through the deck, but the naval architect in me is starting to get some big ideas.
I can have some threaded deck sockets (baxter bolts)...

I am definitely interested in seeing what they look like.
We just did our inaugural weekend cruise with the new dinghy, and would like to get it out of the water on the longer runs; we were on...

Re: Hard Dinghy Storage Aboard
It's what the Ashley Book of Knots calls them, probably just what everyone else calls lashings, but there was a specific way that the turns were secured.

Re: Hard Dinghy Storage Aboard
I'm a traditionalist, so no velcro. I use french lashings to secure my (dyneema) lifelines to the stanchion terminations, they tension up well and don't loosen up at all. I might consult Ashely and...

Thanks. I like that idea. I'm not looking forward to drilling, bolting, glassing, or otherwise having to do alot of invasive work on the deck, so I wonder if I can't just affix the blocks to the...

This does vary somewhat between yachting, commercial, and naval marine practice, but that said:

Hard Dinghy Storage Aboard
I got a great deal this spring on a Trinka 8 and we love it. However, I need to figure out how to stow it aboard. I know it will fit lengthwise upside down between the stays'l and the mast.
The...

Re: Leaking hatches on PSC 37
Seacurves, don't be surprised if the water source isn't condensation associated from the heat of your body and the comparatively cooler tank boundary. We've had that issue quite a bit. I understand...

I'd second Dave's comment. You really want a solid material, web or net is going to foul the rode.
We've had a problem with this as well, a bight of chain will get caught on the lip, then all...

Re: Testing Pacific Seacraft propane locker integrity
If you really want to get technical, you can do a hydrostatic test of the compartment like you would do for any tank aboard a vessel.
This is pretty much what MC1 says, except that you fill the...

I would counter by saying who says the PSC 37 lacks reserve buoyancy, and lacks reserve buoyancy compared to what?
Reserve buoyancy is defined as the buoyancy provided above the intact waterplane...

Interior Teak Oil Color Matching
I thought I was smart by masking off the starboard book/booze locker while sanding the sole. However, when I pulled the tape off, it took the teak oil with it.
I have a 1995 37, does anyone...

PCS,
I'm about to start the process of refinishing our sole, it's pretty beat up. How are you planning to accomplish the project? Sanding, products and number of coats, etc.?

Yep, inside the cabin. The cheap lemon oil is about all I can find around here, though I prefer Amazon's.
And if it would cool off a bit, I'd fire up the Espar and dispel the miasma.
