Re: propane furnace opinions please

Have had Dickenson 12000BTU propane fireplace for 9 years. Great for early and late season in Maine. Knock the chill off in evening and morning. I think they make ones without fans but you...

Re: Plastic 3 way valves

I have had a Forespar and a Jabsco in my waste system for 10 years. They still work fine. Need exercise once a month or so but I am beyond 3 miles pretty regularly so most often pump out outside &...

Re: Engine Raw Water Plumbing Diameter

It will cool the engine just fine, if unobstructed. The intake for my 3GMF on my Pearson 34 is 1/2" and gets eel grass and rock weed stuck before the strainer elbow once or twice a year. I have...

Re: Sailing Alone Better?

Appropo of nothing, George Thorogood's song says "When I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself".
Single handing is great. Lots of the stuff I have done to my Pearson 34 is to facilitate single...

Re: Fuel in oil on Yanmar 3GM

I have a 1985 3GMF.
That's not a real expensive pump.
This quote from a Blackstone oil test a number of years ago. "The only contaminant was fuel, and at 3.5% it's something to monitor. But fuel...

Re: Red Deck Light

I had thought briefly about the nav light confusion possibility. Deck light's use is generally intermittant & brief. Wouldn't use for an anchor light anyway.

Looking into updating my mast headlight and deck light to LED. Misea/Signalmate has a combination unit with either a red or white deck light. Have not seen the red offered by others but seems to me...

Re: Magnetron voltage check

The objective is to have it working to spec. Might the returns be a little sharper? Is that 1/4 mile bearing really 3/8? Does the gain adjust properly? Dunno

I have a Furuno 1621 radar, the display of which is kaput, having been diagnosed so by Furuno (who BTW was very prompt with assessment @ NC).
I am planning on a new-to-me boat in the next year or...

Furuno 1621 radar won't power up

Spring install, go to power up, turn on power & get a vertical line in the center of the screen for about 1/2 second then nothing. It is getting full voltage to unit.
Does this tell you anything...

Re: Yanmar 3GMF Overheating

#1 I'd check water flow out exhaust pipe, easiest way to see if you're obstructed.
Mixing elbow is another good one. they say they need to be changed every 4-5 years which is probably too frequent...
