I had the same problem from the start because my canaster was lying on it''s side. I redesigned so it is upright and no more problems.

I use 20 ft of chain and rope. I tie it to the rope part to hold it down so boats coming close will not cut my rode. As far as extra holding power I don''t know but I suppose it helps....

My boat is about 3 yrs. old. My lifelines are bleeding a sticky substance. I have cleaned them with mineral spirits then wiped them down with Armorall but it keeps coming back. Is this the correct...
