Interior Paint- marine grade or not?

Is marine grade interior paint really necessary? Considering the higher cost, I'm leaning towards a good low VOC enamel from Sherwin-Williams. Automotive grade primer and two topcoats.

Maybe someone can help me with finding a 14" OD round deck plate, preferably screw-type. Metal or plastic. The largest I've seen are 10". It's for a propane tank storage at the stern of my sail boat...

I understand there were only 6 glass versions built by C&B Marine. I bought one left for dead on a trailer at Lake Texhoma last year and she's undergoing restoration. Haven't launched...
