Looking forward to hearing how the prop works out...6000# is a lot heavier than me at 2200#, I would think you'll see a difference with the new prop.

I put mine on yesterday, have not tried it out...

I just bought the 6", which is why this stuff is fresh in my mind, so I'd say yes. The 8" prop is just too 'fast' for a sailboat. Heck, the 6" is to fast based on my calcs.

What pitch are you using? On the Nissan 6hp for a sailboat it should be the 6" pitch, that allows the motor to try and achieve max rpm (5500) which is the only time you're getting close to 6HP.

With sails down, my little 22 gets tossed big time in the short chop of lake p when the waves are 2-3 feet. With sails up it's, well, smooth sailing. It's a sailboat, put up the doggone sails.
